SAFETY

Safety is the most important player on our team and we are very conscious of safety and loss control. Safety awareness is job one! It benefits both Amex and our clients. To insure our position, we maintain and implement our Corporate Safety Policy Program, which consists of three basic elements: Policy, Training, and Enforcement.

Amex employs 2 full-time safety professionals, our Corporate Safety Director and a Field Safety Supervisor. The Corporate Safety Director oversees the entire safety and loss control programs. The role of the Safety Director includes: create/revise, implement and enforce the Corporate Safety Policy; participates in job site safety inspections; Chairman of the Amex Safety Committee; project specific safety training; coordinates Workman's Compensation and General Liability insurance. Our Safety Director holds the Project Managers and Field Supervision responsible for day to day site safety responsibilities and the Safety Director acts as a resource for field support as needed. Our Field Safety Supervisor supports the efforts of the Safety Director and is available for full time, on site safety support as requested by our clients.

Employee training is the most important part of any safety program and we concentrate our efforts in this area. Supervisors receive copies of our safety manual and are trained to incorporate the program into the work schedule with informal group discussions called "Toolbox Safety Talks", which are conducted by each foreman on a weekly basis. and all employees participate in regularly scheduled follow-up training programs along with site specific training programs. Over 90% of our work force has completed the OSHA 10 hour safety training and all of our Apprentices are trained in First Aid and CPR.

Our safety program is interwoven into every phase of our business and is enforced uniformly, consistently, and swiftly.

Safety is another ingredient that Amex incorporates into its infrastructure to help ensure a successful, high quality, safe, cost effective, on time project.
